Hello,
for quite some time now, I'm using ODBC from Linux to connect to my model 150 running V4R5. To isolate a minor glitch with character fields coming back being padded with blanks to their maximum length, I wanted to see if this behavior can be adjusted by telling the ODBC driver accordingly. Apparently TrimCharFields isn't known for the older iseriesaccess 7.1.0 ODBC driver I'm currently using.

So I tried a newer driver, ibm-iaccess-1.1.0. Connection works flawless but I get an error while preparing a simple SELECT:
[IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver][DB2 for i5/OS]PWS0001 - Function did not complete successfully. (SQL-HY000)
This is consistent with an earlier try:

Apparently, the newer driver has issues with older OS/400 releases. Sigh.
I tried to search for documentation about the valid connection strings for the iseriesaccess 7.1.0 ODBC drivers, but failed. Anybody knows a source?
Thank you!
:wq! PoC
