Since this is a model 270, it's probably a good idea to rebuild the battery anyways given the age. Since they use standard NiCD cells, which are often sold OTC as classic rechargeable AA/AAA batteries, it shouldn't be too hard to source replacements.

For machines this vintage with proprietary NiCD battery packs, I usually prefer building a battery holder with the right amount of cells and room for the sensor thermistor and a small 3D-printed clamp to hold it in place where the old one used to be. This will make your life a lot easier for future servicing, and you can easily remove the cells to prevent battery leakage if you're putting the machine in cold storage.

We are working on a 9406-270 that is throwing a 27639010 src code.

Likely that cache battery was drained, no one noticed, and they had a
power outage.

Had to IPL off the D side in manual mode to reclaim cache.

Didn't know any DST password but 22222222 got me in. Whew!

Did the reclaim cache and now have the machine up and running.

Checked cache battery status and it displays like we just put in a
new cache battery (we didn't).

Anyone see this before? Guess we need a new cache battery. True?

Thx,

Jerry
