I've learned (it was no great surprise, since the system Telnet client doesn't have "privacy-only" TLS) that neither does it accept a cert that's been expired since 2015.

Hypothetically (and I fervently hope it remains hypothetical), is there a way to recover if one has lost the password for a "*SYSTEM" cert store?
