RE: ACS Run SQL Scripts disconnects after one hour -- MIDRANGE-L

My 5250 Session will disconnect but not end but shows the next suffix session for sign on. If I disconnect and reconnect it asks if I want to attempt to reconnect. Most of the time if I attempt to reconnect it ends the job and I get another sign on screen for the first session. Then if I am working in ACS SQL Scripts or Rdi and attempt to save or access the system after being idle a little bit, they indicate that I must reconnect. Then I have a Fortra/Help Systems/Linoma Surveyor product that if I leave a script open but idle, I usually must close and reconnect as well.

When my 5250 session drops, I get a CPF5140 that says, “The request shutdown was caused by either the user turning the power off, by a device error, or the ASCII controller inactivity timer expired.” I have connected IBM Support and they want me to run a Comm Trace to watch the communications with the various sessions. I don’t know how, and I can seem to get anyone in our Infrastructure to help with the problem, so the IBM request dies a slow, idle death. Yes, it might be a Network problem, but say that and proving that is nearly impossible.

That's probably not iACS but the system or network.
