There is no templating system built into CGIDEV2 - at least not how I think you see it. CGIDEV2 is completely agnostic as to the kind of file you will create - it was originally for HTML, it can be used for XML, it can be used for CSV (I don't recommend it, though!). The idea is basically to set up "variable" tags in a template and use CGIDEV2 functions to do a search-replace action on them. These tags can be actual values in XML or attributes or whatever.

So you treat cxml just like any xml - Jon has articles on this, I think Paul Tuohy does - many of them are on the easy400.net web site where you get CGIDEV2.

Now the template - you need to go to a site that gives you the layout of each transaction using this so-called cxml. You can probably find everything at cxml.org - what they call cXML schemas are the layout or description or whatever, from which you create CGIDEV2 templates based on those structures.

Hope that gives you a direction - there's nothing especially magical about cXML vs XML - cXML is described as a subset of XML on one google hit - XML, in math terms, is probably well-described as an infinite set, so everything presented using XML is a subset. But I digress

Good luck! You might find you want to get a vendor involved - it's like in the good-old days of EDI vendors - they manage the communication and putting your data into schemas and all.

Regards
Vern

Well XML-INTO can be used to consume any cXML that is sent to you. Generation is a different thing.

I would suggest you stop looking for cXML tools specifically - as Vern has pointed out it is just a set of predefined standards for commerce data interchange. Instead, look for tools such as Krengletech's XML-Suite that assist in building XML. You can also use an existing templating system, such as that builtin to CGIDEV2. There is also the XMLi open-source project (https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fxmli%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cddanner%40awtx-itw.com%7Ce6490df69e924df75e5e08db223ac708%7C7fa3ed9ffff94884a6e28dd98886b775%7C0%7C0%7C638142514095397153%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=UFuNHVex4OJ%2Fi0fNuPSfMM%2FO%2B8I1RUUsDZTMamwCIB8%3D&reserved=0 <https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fxmli%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cddanner%40awtx-itw.com%7Ce6490df69e924df75e5e08db223ac708%7C7fa3ed9ffff94884a6e28dd98886b77

I don't think cXML is a product.

It's an XML data format.

You'll need to learn how to format cXML files for them if they need them.

Or find a vendor that can help with software that can create cXML file
? (Which was maybe what you were after?)
