I have a client (small shop) who (against my initial recommendations)
decided to run their mail server in-house on the IBM i.
The reason I advised against was that the solution would be quite cost
ineffective. But if they feel more at ease with the in house solutions that
is fine by me. And I do love the IBM i but have close to zero detail
knowledge about the inner workings of Notes/Domino!
Now they are having issues with receiving email attachments of type “docx”
and “xslx”. Not always but frequently enough do be a hassle.
I have tried to establish an account to the HCL support forums but for some
reason “OCTA” blocks me.
I know that in house mail on the i is not common but if anyone can hint me
in the right direction that will be most helpful.
OH – for extra details: Customer just told me that the issue may have
something to do with “Vipre” – whatever that is…
