Looks like a misconfiguration for detecting so called proxy sessions. Proxy sessions enable an FTP user on host C to initiate concurrent FTP sessions to host A and host B. You can then instruct host A to put, or host B to get directly to/from the other host. The data connection is not built over host C which saves one temporary transfer. Dunno why anyone wants to disable such a nice and unique FTP feature.

Probably there's a check for addresses and ports on their server and this probably fails with active FTP (the server is instructed to build an outbound data connection). Try switching to passive mode (passive, quote PASV) and try again. Maybe that helps.

If not, you should contact the server administrator and make them aware of their configuration issue.
