I haven't had a chance to even look at your link yet (I'm on another project), but I've been doing all of this from what should be a more-or-less QSECOFR-equivalent account.

Let's face it, there are enough safeguards here that routine use of a QSECOFR-equivalent account isn't anywhere near as dangerous as mucking about as ROOT on a *nix box.
