The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I agreed to write an end-user report builder and bundle it with our web
applications. Our applications entail some 500+ database tables and perhaps
1K SQL views. The report tool may also be used by developers. Reports would
be run from menu items configured within our web portal and applications.
I'm looking for opinions about:
Browser-based designers vs. desktop-based.
Drag and drop WYSIWYG designers vs. configuration input similar to the
Broadly scoped developer IDEs which might include functionality for
creating charts, graphs, dashboards, drill-down queries, formatted exports,
etc. vs. basic reporting similar to WRKQRY.
Builders that generate machine executable code such as programs, service
programs, Java Classes, etc. vs runtime engines that interpret report
configuration definitions at runtime, similar to STRSQL or WRKQRY.
