The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
What are the main features in a cross-reference package:
-Files where used ?
-Field cross reference ?
-Program references ?
-Scanning source for variables or other content ?
-other ?
I've been toying with the idea of creating a few lightweight open source tools for cross referencing IBMi apps, so ideas appreciated.
Much info can now be extracted with DB2 services.

subject: RE: Cross-reference software
Hi Bill,
I have used 3 different x-ref packages. We used to use Hawkeye Pathfinder, but moved away from them when they were slow to integrate with RDI. We purchased X-Analysis from Fresche and have been happy with it. Their tooling does a good job of helping with impact analysis. We also purchased Midrange Dynamics change management system. That included a x-ref tool as well. It is a bit more basic than X-Analysis, but for certain tasks I like it better. I find myself using both. Let me know if you have more questions.
