Try FileZilla first to make sure it works.

Then try setting PASV mode possibly or disabling passive mode:

We're trying to use 5250 to download an update from an ISV using clear-text FTP. It connects fine, and we can do a "cd". A "dir" command just sits there, apparently doing nothing. A subsequent "cd" appears to work fine.
A "get" command just sits there, apparently doing nothing.

The vendor is adamant the problem is on my end. Any suggestions on what I should check?
