If I recall correctly that's where Foxtrot was popular.
The core RPA desktop technology was acquired and rebranded, but they have been doing a lot of enhancing.
It's great for quick scripting types of things at the desktop.
You're right that sharing of scripts is a bit painful.

Yes, it's still in testing phase, but I have successfully rewritten (not converted) a few of our Foxtrot scripts to Power Automate. The annoying thing is trying to share them with coworkers when you do not have the higher end license. There are a few other annoyances, but there are also a few good things about it compared to Foxtrot. I think it's best at doing non-5250 session work, but that is what I am automating with it, so it can be done and it does work.
In general I think it's a great free offering and is probably even better with a paid version and I'm not generally a MS fan so this is not a paid or fanboy endorsement ?
