Rob, I can chime in a bit about 2FA on O365. Our network personnel rolled that out
last year. The way it was done here was MicroSoft Authenticator had to be installed
on our cell phones.

When our network passwords change (Active Directory), I have to validate via
Authenticator on my phone each time for everything MicroSoft like ....

... on the corporate email on my cell phone and then any other MicroSoft software like
One-Drive, One-Note or even Zend Desk.
I forget about those and when I go to use them, the MicroSoft prompt shows up
And I have to use the new password when Authenticator requests it.

We do that here every 90 days.

Very Respectfully,
Michael Mayer

I probably can only squeak a little about 2FA. Apparently we're rolling it out here for O365. Luckily we can restrict it to only when using O365 outside of our network. Then we're under the assumption that these users have smart phones. Which you may take for granted but our consultant network admin is seriously into paranoia and only took a company supplied phone for 2FA providing he can keep it in a secure box (?lead lined?) when not needing 2FA.
Starting to envy the local Amish population...
