I just tried the open source "lftp"

it showed a status line

`file_to_send.gz' at 98041856 (18%) 18.19M/s eta:22s [Sending data]

Does anyone know how to calculate the remaining time/bytes on a file
transfer?

I am FTP'ing a 185Gb to a remote system and it has been copying for more
than 24 hours. I need to be able to estimate the remaining time of the copy.

The only information I have is the size of the file and the I/O count when
I display the open files for the job.

Can I see somewhere how many bytes per minute are being copied?

TIA, Darryl Freinkel.
