Hi Chris,

Some of the older style Zebra label printers had a small amount of internal memory and their print buffer could be overrun.

If you have a large spool file (multiple labels), you could be overflowing the buffer.

I would generate ZPL spool files from within RPG. The best way that I managed to control the buffering issue was to open and close the spool file for each label. Each label would be processed separately instead of one larger spool file. The printer seemed to handle this better.

That or buy a newer printer.

Joe

Our Zebra label printer is constantly going off line. It appears the communication box is failing, not the printer. Cannot find a replacement online.

What all do you use for an address label printer? Looks like it is time for us to purchase a replacement to this 10 year old solutions.
