I have no idea what I did yesterday as I was sure I hit f9 for all
parameters but ... obviously I did not.

I think I want *AFTER as the first volume is explicitly initialised and
this SAV command is following other SAVxxx commands and the SAV of the IFS
is overflowing the first volume to the second.

Don,

It is there, but hidden... Prompt the commend, press F10=Additional
parameters, then F11 to show keywords, then press F9 to see all the
parameters ... then page down ...

It's "CLEAR(*ALL)" that you want, just like on SAVOBJ, SAVLIB etc.

The SAV command does not have any parameter to check for active files.

The SAV when running is filling the first volume on a virtual tape
volume
and we are getting the CPA4278 message as there are active files on the
second volume.
