It's not an error on our part in setting receiver settings. We WANT to retain it for this long. We could easily adjust these down if we wanted to.
But you are right to bring up that one shouldn't use this as an excuse to be shy of any replication package.
We actually migrated from Mimix to Quick-EDD but still use the same journal libraries.
Why did we migrate? At the time Mimix was just using the maintenance money to finance their next LBO and not putting money into the product. They were taking 18 months to fully support any new release of the OS and I don't put up with that <feces>.
Now Precisely owns both products but they've learned that lesson. Could it be better? Yes, as it took them over a month to have a release ready for 7.5.
