Larry, i put in a "idea" to allow for the re-ipl of the VTL IOA to be done at the command line.
we've had to do the same for Protect Tier and data domain.
cannot figure out the new interface to find a direct link, but search for: IBMI-I-1048 https://ideas.ibm.com/

Same really, just go into SST and under concurrent maintenance restart the virtual IOP. We do this routinely to get Cybernetics VTLs talking to the system again.
