Rob,

That is exactly what I am looking for...

when the table has been altered with these statements...
ALTER TABLE
ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE ROW ACCESS CONTROL
ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE COLUMN ACCESS CONTROL

C appears in Control when activated and Control is blank when deactivated.

thanks!

Jay

What's your definition of "activated"?
Do you mean something like this?
Select
System_Table_Name,
System_Table_Schema,
Control
From qsys2.systables
where control <> ''
order by system_table_schema, system_table_name;

Does the value of CONTROL change by
ALTER TABLE
ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE ROW ACCESS CONTROL
ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE COLUMN ACCESS CONTROL
?

Subject: determine RCAC active on file - best way

I know you can do the following to determine if any RCAC masking rules
exist on a file...

select sys_cname
from qsys2.syscontrols
where sys_dname = 'LIB'
and sys_tname = 'FILE'
and "ENABLE" = 'Y'

But is there also a simple sql query to determine if RCAC is simply
activated.
RCAC can be activated but no masking rules may exist.

tia
