Or use IWS to present your new RPG programs as Web Services:

- Very easy to understand even if you are an RPG ONLY programmer
- It's free
- The support is free (under IBM i umbrella) and 5 stars level
- Scalable and stable
- Secure and flexible
- Understands CCSID and it's integrated in IBM i
- If needed can be a statefull application

To develope the web side you can choose anything you like and if in a few
years the web side became outdated you can change it without the need to
rewrite the backend part.

You can use CGIDEV2, free, but you will need to make changes to your
programs.
If you have small programs, one task per program, it will be easy,
otherwise, if you have big programs, you will need to split them.
Web and 5250 have some differences that makes it very hard to do automatic
conversion, very likely you end up with a prettier 5250 in web, not
really web.

We implemented Presto (Fresche) about a year ago for one of our
applications. We are implementing another one next month . As of
today, we have about 400 users on the presto GUI and expect to be double
that number by the end of the year.

Our web team has worked with Fresche to be able to implement full change
control through a SLDC framework (Multiple Dev environments -> -test ->
QA -> Prod ).

Hi All,

I am looking for recommendations on packages we can use to modernize from
Green Screen to GUI.
I am not looking for just a screen scraper although it could be used
during the conversion.

We got a price from Profound and it is WAY too expensive for a 1-2
developer shop.
I know it is wonderful product but there is no way I am even going to
present it to the owner, just not cost effective for 1-2 developers.

Looking for what are all the options and why you like them.
Want as little current RPG code changes as possible but will do what is
needed to move forward.

Vendor opinions are welcome.
