What exactly are you thinking about?
GUI is solely a client thing, while communicating with application servers ("Middleware") or directly via SQL to IBM i. Dunno if new offerings vom IBM help developing Client-Server applications more than earlier approaches did.
Or are you talking about those fancy web UI possibilities? Also, in the end it's mostly HTML sent to a browser running on a GUI client.
Or did I understand completely wrong?
