There is also a less invasive way. Every DDS menu (not system menus) have
associated a message file, usually with the same name as the menu.
You could temporarily remove the entry for the option or options you don't
want the users to get access to and after your maintenance insert back the
message entry for that menu option. You could write a small, simple
program that uses the RMVMSGD and the ADDMSGD commands.

This way, when you delete a specific entry, the user will get a message
saying that the option is not valid or not available.
