I have the latest service pack.

It turns out that a bunch of things didn't get copied to the thumb drive.
I copied the DVD again. This time the install and service pack went fine.
iNav works like a charm.

have the latest service pack ready to go if you are using the DVD.

that will give you a better chance of running an unsupported CA software
version on an unsupported windows version :-)
