I think Excel handles null just fine.
Let's ignore column.
If I have row 12 = 1
And row 24 = 4
And row 25 = average(x12 : x24) the answer is 2
Now if I don't have rows 13-23 as null but I put a zero in them then my average becomes 0.3 something.
That's how null works.
