When you deal with as many customers and differing systems that folks like
Brad, myself, IBM support, and several others on the list do, (as opposed
to a single reasonably educable user community like you deal with) you get
to understand that the lowest common denominator must be the most basic set
up. Then as the users (customer) gets more sophisticated due to the
gentle education you give them, you can ratchet up the configuration
choices.

When some users see *PND next to a job log they think it's in any state but
a usable one. Does not make it true, just the perception then fires off a
support call. Then we spend the next 10 minutes explaining why it's not a
problem.

Sometimes it's just not worth it.....

Why does the size or sophistication of the customer matter then? It would
make it easier because WRKJOB option 10 would always work. Job active or
not. (Unless the job is older than the time in GO CLEANUP).
