Hello all,
We are starting a project that will migrate us to the latest release of our ERP package (CMS). Right now I'm trying to get a handle on how many custom programs we have on our system that touch files that have changed in the new version. I can, of course, just eyeball the spreadsheet we have with the files that have changed and scan our programs for the field in question using either SEU or iSphere through RDI, but I'm wondering if there is a more elegant solution. At present we don't have a third-party cross-reference tool to assist us in this, although one might be coming in the not-too-distant future. I'm wondering if there is a way to set up some sort of automated process that reads through a database file that would have a list of the files/fields that have changed, and as it reads through this scans all the source in a particular source file for any instances of the file/field in question.
Anyone out there know of such a thing? Thanks, as always, for any input.
