Brad

Thanks for confirming my meager memory! I think some kind workstation customization object for TIFFs is involved? We ran into issues with the fairly new AFPRSC keyword, CPYSPLF handled it, HPT did not.

Cheers

Vern,

MMAIL uses (or did use) my AFPTOOL software. I don't believe it does any
more... but it may use a very old version of it (pre licensing).

AFPTOOL does use Host Print Transform, and it's not perfect but it works
most of the time. There were alignment issues sometimes, but changing the
Workstation Customization Object fixed it in most cases. I don't see any
configuration with CPYSPLF, but I haven't dug deep into it as well as I
also have software written long before CPYSPLF did PDF conversions (SPLTOOL
and AFPTOOL).

WinSpool (I worked at RJS until 2013 but don't have direct specific
recall of how it worked) came out before IBM added PDF output to CPYSPLF
- several years, in fact.So it uses a different process for the
conversion, hence, the result can be different. Other things that can
differ due to page margins and printable area and stuff like that.

RJS was acquired by Help Systems some time ago, I don't know if they
would respond to your questions. There are other solutions that
converted differently, as well, MMAIL is one that now needs a small
annual contribution. I think Host Print Transform is involved with MMAIL.

But just generally speaking, different process code can easily have
different results.

Good luck!

Hi John
You will need to fill in some missing information
What process are you using to determine that the logo has "moved"?
You say that you are using CPYSPLF, can you supply the command that you
are using
You will need to determine how the logo is being printed - page segment,
overlay etc.?

Subject: [EXTERNAL] CPYSPLF seems to screw up the position of an image

Unfortunately, I don't know much about printer files and can't even
tell you how we got the image in there in the first place.

But when we were using an ancient version of RJS WinSpool, the PDFs it
generated had our company logo in the intended position. That's not an
option for us anymore, so I switched us over to CPYSPLF. That seems to
work well for some things, but one issue we're having is that the logo
has moved, to the point where it's obscuring some of the text, not to
mention looking stupid.

How do I find out what's going wrong? Is there any way to fix this?
