Don -

Have you looked at the IBM i system-level jobs which support this activity while the user is having these problems ?

I will typically have them try it, and while they're trying I'll use the WRKOBJLCK OBJ(USERID) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF) and review the job logs of any Q* jobs that I see active for that user.

Sometimes you'll see messages in those jobs that can be helpful in solving the issue.
Hope this helps!

We have a user connecting remotely over VPN.
They are using Eclipse to access the IBMi
They are working in the IFS and get a problem trying to expand a few folders.
The error is:
Folder /www/zendphp7/htdocs/dev/common/images is not readable. Cannot expand.
If I log on as this user from a green screen I am able to drill down to these directories from wrklnk
If I use RDi and create a new connection with their user profile again I am able to drill down to these directories.
The user has explicit access to the folders.

In an attempt to resolve this I granted authority for the user to all the directories explicitly and used SUBTREE(*ALL)
The CCSID of the directory dev is 37
The CCSID of the directory common is 1252 The CCSID of the directory images is 1252
The CCSID of the directories under images include 37, 819 and 1252
Any suggestions ?
