Rob,

Same here about STRSQL (I normally use a QuantumDB plugin for RDi and/or Eclipse for vast majority of my SQL work).

Tried using the drop procedure in STRSQL and got "Keyword EXISTS not expected. Valid tokens: <END-OF-STATEMENT>. "

You and Sue are probably right about being behind on the TRs. I've going round and round with my boss about getting some PTFs applied to fix some small issues with RDi so we will see if we can get caught on them.

I do not believe the tools (ACS, STRSQL) are the fault. STRSQL may lack for prompting the new features but it should pass them through, as shown in this example.
Type SQL statement, press Enter.
> drop procedure if exists rasputin
DROP PROCEDURE statement complete.
Not that I use STRSQL as I find ACS' Run SQL Scripts much better. I just tried it to test the tools.

Sue,

Tried this on a V7.3 system in ACS (drop table if exists ddblib/sensidta;), also STRSQL, and I'm getting an error "Keyword EXISTS not expected."

Another option is to use the IF EXISTS option with the DROP statement. The statement will complete with success whether the object exists or not.

DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS myproc;

This was introduced about a year ago.

My first line is to Drop the Stored procedure before creating it. I
don't
want it to crash because the Stored Procedure does not exist.

Thank You
