This happened after restoring the LIC and signing on as QSECOFR to the console, defining the tape device, and running option 21 on the GO RESTORE menu. Can anyone suggest how to get the console back? I'm guessing it is now varied off?

I'm not sure if it helps but you can force DST display from the local panel, maybe this brings the console back?

- Switch to manual mode (if it isn't), no re-ipl,
- choose mode 21.

Also you can switch console between different options (Twinax, etc.) with the panel, maybe forcing that to Twinax again brings it back.

Hope that helps.

If not? the system is blank, you can easily start anew by a hard power cycle, and IPL from tape (D M).

Following:

I checked the IPL mode and forced an IPL by pressing the delayed power off button twice. I'm hoping this allows me to reconfigure automatic device configuration, get the console back, and restart the system restore.
