i've searched the archives, I ran a straight search on the Internet and I'm not getting what I expect.

IBM has its references but not a practical example. Nothing beats a practical example, usually.

I'm trying to extract journal entries to run down an issue with one file. After disappointment with DSPJRNE and RTVJRNE, I tried coding for the QjoRetrieveJournalEntries API. I like API's but I've gotten so many nasty compile errors, that I'm back to RTVJRNE, which seems to get me more of the actual record data than DSPJRNE.

Is there an article, even an online video, that gets to the actual extraction of the record content?
