I would agree. We've been doing DUPTAP to virtual tape for years. Based
on wikipedia, I'd say we did LTO2, LTO5 and LTO7. No issues.

But as far as your original question I cannot see where it would be any
big shakes to do a DUPTAP from LTO4 to virtual tape. We used to have a
remote facility where the people there could not be bothered with handling
tapes. So we would save to virtual tape, ship it over with FTP or some
such thing and DUPTAP it to physical media. All within BRMS.
Glad we switched to VTL and got rid of all physical tapes and tape drives.
