Apparently font management behavior changed not in a good way a few
releases ago. I had used Andale Mono but now it doesn't show up on the
font list; I suspect the current set of fonts is buried in code. The Fonts
folder in the distribution package is empty. Andale Mono configures and
works fine in RDi.

I updated the java to use the Semeru Open9 (11.0.12.7) (It nicely removed
the earlier OpenJDK instance I had)
Then used the check for updates button, it showed 1.1.8.8
Downloaded and ran the install.
All worked perfectly.

I suspect java or firewall issues if it does not go that smoothly.....

Rob, Do you mess with the font settings? I don't see any changes at all in
any of the panels.
