What kind of number is it? One of the IFS (or Unix?) errors that in the 3000's? If so, there is a set of messages in QCPFMSG for those - just put CPE in front of the number - so error number 3024 - I don't know if that's valid, just an example - do the message for that is CPE3024.

It it's and RPG file or program status code, those are in QRNXMSG - they are RNQ followed by the status number - so code 1218, that reports a lock, would be message ID RNQ1218 in QRNXMSG.

If it's your own error numbers, then you are probably on your own - viel Glück!

True. But if there is already a matching message, I don't need to do that. And it's automatically translated on other systems with different languages.
