Back when we were using physical tapes we would have to dup archive tapes from a drive scheduled to be replaced to the newer model every couple of years. This used to keep a gal pretty occupied for a few weeks every couple of years.
Other shops can probably point to some tape in their archive as proof they have it, however they have not had a tape drive that would read that for years. For example reel-to-reel.
