As Vern just mentioned, Scott Klement has a version of imagemagick available that will work. If you want to stick to stuff you can get from IBM, then python might fit the bill for you. A q&d example that takes a fully qualifyied file on the ifs and converts it to JPG.

Python:
import sys
import argparse
import os.path
from PIL import Image

arg1 = sys.argv[1]
filename, file_extension = os.path.splitext(arg1)
old_image = Image.open(arg1)
old_image.save(filename + '.jpg')

cl:
STRQSH CMD('python /kevin/python/png_convert.py /kevin/qr.png')

We are trying to print product images on a report. Unfortunately the images we are trying to print are in PNG format and AFPDS doesn't support that format.

I was wondering if there are any tools or utilities available that run on the IBM i that would convert that format?

Another thought is we could take the BASE64 string and create our own image. I see SQL has a way to convert BASE64 to an image file, but I can't seem to get it to work. Any working examples or articles that I could view?

We are at 7.2 and updating to 7.4 within a month or so if there is anything in 7.4 that I could use.

Thanks.
