I am able to connect to the share using my user ID but I have more
authority than our users.

I need assistance figuring out why the system will not let me use the DOS
commands to set up a windows share to the shared folder in the IFS. I have
given the user permission to use the share and folder.

Background:
I have reports that are AFPDS reports which I convert to a PDF. I then use
NETSERVER to display the PDF on the user's screen in a browser or acrobat.

To achieve this I do a

NET USE I: /DELETE.

followed by

NET USE I: \\SYSTEM_NAME\SHARE /USER:USER_NAME

It prompts for the password which I key in.

Problem:
IBM i rejects the connection with "System error 5 has occurred" and
"Access is denied"

I cannot track down what the OS does not like.

Can anyone help with this issue?

TIA, Darryl Freinkel
