Subject: Is there a maximum length on the value that can be selected/omitted in a DDS

Hi everyone
We are on V7r2
I hope that what I am asking for makes sense

I need to create a logical that selects records with a particular value held in an alpha field of 100 characters
I am unable to google anything as to how long the value in CMP(EQ 'value') can be on a select/omit
And if I CAN fit the 100 characters into the 'value' - how should it be written within the DDS?

As always - any and all responses gratefully welcome
