With FTP I haven't had to create the savf's in years. Just be in namefmt 1 and get xxxxx.savf

It will transfer it fine. SCP seems to do fine also. I didn't restore from the savf, but dspsavf worked fine. File didn't exist in kevin2 before I started.

scp kevin@dev<mailto:kevin@dev>:/qsys.lib/kevin.lib/ftpapi.file /qsys.lib/kevin2.lib

I had to use .file instead of .savf. Not sure why.

Yes ... like FTP it won't create savefiles correctly on the IBM i ... they
have to already exist ... but given that at least an empty one exists on
the IBM i you can copy a full one over the empty one.

Going the other way ... IBM i -> WIndows ... is fine.
