I was playing around with some ideas to help with PTF binary file downloads from fix central after FTP is stopped.

I started playing with curl and found(probably second nature to some) that I could run

cd /my/local/directory
curl -O sftp://userID:PWD@remote_host/path/to/files/BaseName_[1-9].BIN

Sounds like you have solved your immediate issue.

For future reference for you or anyone here using Python, this may be an option:

https://pypi.org/project/pysftp/

You can easily create all kinds of customized SFTP scripting if needed..

Hello Stefan, Patrik, Jack, Kevin, Jerry, Diego

Back from doing my homework...

I have followed most of the links you threw my way But, as I've always tried to reduce homework to a minimum, I kept looking for a simpler way and finally found QMGTOOLS/STRSFTP

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/qmgtools-sftp-command

for my simple needs (download files) it's perfect and works like a charm.

Thanks everyone for sharing knowledge and knowhow with me.

Gad
