I remember writing an application in my own time remotely connected to a
S/38 at 14.4 if I remember correctly.

Using SEU I would watch each line slowly display.

I was extremely efficient at writing 20 lines of code at a time and
jotting down the line number of certain areas of the program to minimise
paging.

Oh that was painful!!!

No I didn't either but I did hear of people doing that.

And now compare that to the carelessness of modern Web Designers, pushing
megabytes of HTML, JavaScript, pictures and whatnot through the pipe for
"just" showing some tabular data…
