Well that's disappointing I would say. However a direct cable is the right way to go.

The inability to access that remotely of course can be a big problem. Suppose (for the sake of argument) there was a global pandemic that cause people to be unable to travel to the office. Unlikely I know, however then you could not get to the console and that's an issue.

if the PC is in a restricted network that requires additional authentication to get into that would help the requirements there and also as Evan mentioned allow the PC to get updates periodically.
