Ask yourself this:
- Have you upgraded systems and/or save system since you made that decision?
- How much time and/or storage does saving the additional stuff really add on?
- Is this time and/or storage savings worth complicating your restore?

Subject: BRMS IFS save - *LINK vs QALLUSRLNK
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
Reviewing BRMS save strategy.
Years back, IBM suggested using QALLUSRLNK vs *LINK.
QALLUSRLNK saves /*, but omits the system IFS data directories.
These omits include
/QIBM/ProdData
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData
At the time, this made sense and shortened the save a bit.
But from a recovery standpoint, probably not good, as these directories would be missed.
I'm thinking of switching back to *LINK.
What are others in the group using?
Any thoughts from the group?
Thank You
