We have been asked to uninstall Java on all computers and find alternatives.

i Access Solutions can run with OpenJDK or Amazon Corretto, according to https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/java-options-ibm-i-access-client-solutions.

I installed Corretto 11 and uninstalled Java. Access Solutions barely slowed down, though both the emulator and the full Access Client Solutions seemed to go through a brief (re)configuration step.

But now the emulator receives an error when starting: "MSGSSL001 - An error was encountered during a secure socket operation. (Unsupported or unrecognized SSL message)". I do NOT get this with the full client, even though the emulator is set to use the same settings as the full client. The error appears 2x on an emulator that opens three sessions, but it does not prevent the first session from running. I go to the second tab and it is not connected. I go to Communication and hit connect, and the screen opens, but I get the error again. Then I go to the 3rd screen and repeat the process. Once started, the sessions themselves show the padlock in the lower right, so we appear to have established a secure connection.

A test of the defined System Configuration in Client Solutions, where I have "Use SSL for connection" checked and hit the "Verify Connection", also returns an error for the Verifying connect to Navigator for I service...Failed: MSGSSL001 - An error was encountered during a secure socket operation. (Unsupported or unrecognized SSL message) using port number 2004". [I also get an error for Secure Shell (SSH) service, but I got that before as well. We haven't enabled the SSH server.]

Has anybody faced this before? Any suggestions?
