Will see, currently updating HMC from 8.8.6 *sigh* to something new. Server firmware is most current.

chhwres didn’t do the job, also with 128MB steps.

Will check moving RAM instead of removing.

Not a big deal but I'm quite sure it moves FROM *MACHINE to *MACHINE. Nonetheless we fought this problem recently on POWER8 machine where the firmware was not up to date.

We found we could ADD memory and we could remove SMALL amounts (e.g. 4 or 8 GB once but removing a second amount or removing say 32 GB (of 192GB in the lPAR) would fail.
