According to Dan Riehl, that setting for IBM i Access for Windows might not work for all functions - some use the cached settings. I don't know if ACS has the same possible behavior.

But IBM i Access has the CWBLOGON executable - and this has the /c switch that clears the cache for all systems, a system you specify with a different switch, or a user on a system you set switches for.

Digging around in the gettingstarted for ACS, it seems there is a LOGON plugin that does the same thing - it also has the /c switch for clearing the cache -

/PLUGIN=logon /SYSTEM=<system> [/USERID=<userid>] [/PASSWORD=<password>] [/AUTH] [/C] [/GUI=<1|0>]

/SYSTEM - name of system
/USERID - user id
/PASSWORD - password associated with the user id
/AUTH - attempts connect to system with specified logon credentials
and only caches them on success
/C - clears the cache
/GUI - whether or not a graphical user interface can be used
This command will cache the user id and password which can be used to prevent password prompting.

I'll have to test this on my work laptop tomorrow - not sure what it'll do on there, as I use the .netrc method of bypassing initial system logon, but we shall see.

Cheers
Vern

I was asked how to use a different user in the IFS action of ACS - the
person needed more authority than he had with the logon he first used.
