If I roll my own it won't be licensed.
If it has to be able to run on both the primary and H/A it won't be tied to serial number.
If it has to be able to run on newer models without yet another obscure patch to remember it won't be tied to model number.
And I can make any rpg program a sql function if it has a subprocedure where it accepts a number of parameters and returns a single parameter. Which most people would do so they could write rpg code like
If ValidUser(userid, password) ...
