the data_size on the top 20 directories I have tracked hasn't changed in a
week.

select path_name, object_type, data_size, object_owner, create_timestamp,
access_timestamp,
data_change_timestamp, object_change_timestamp
from table (
qsys2.ifs_object_statistics(
start_path_name => '/',
subtree_directories => 'YES',
object_type_list => '*ALLDIR *NOQSYS'))
where data_size is not null and object_owner not in ('QSYS')

order by 3 desc
limit 20;

be careful which you are looking at for directory size:

ALLOCATED_SIZE "The number of bytes that have been allocated for this
object."
DATA_SIZE "The size, in bytes, of the data in this object. This size
does not include object headers or the size of extended attributes
associated with the object."

(trying my best to get the right words)

I believe for directories the size does "not reset" when you remove
files from it.
I recall a conversation on this list discussing similar things and that
you had to delete the files then delete the directory and recreate it to
"reset" the size. not sure which of the two above that is though.
(i think I got it right)

as for the email subject, the data is gathered ever time you run it.
it is not "stored somewhere" like the data in QAEZDISK (RTVDSKINF)

Glad it's Friday,
Bryan

I have a ifs directory with a lot of files, and removed many pages worth,
but the data_size number hasn't changed.

I also have a directory that is currently empty, but shows 44GB in
data_size
