Alan,

Alexei's example below has worked well for me.

STRQSH CMD('cd /directory1/sub-directory2/sub-directory3/sub-directory4/sub-directory5/ && jar cfM 20210216_141530_BOL.zip *.pdf')

cd changes the directory (duh) and the && allows the jar command to run after the cd command. Voila, you've got a zip file that's not buried in directories.

This may or may not be much help. I ran across this, this spring for a project and I used zip, not jar or COPYTOARC.
The below 2 lines was in my notes on it -

--this gets files w/o the folders structure zip -j /tmp/myzip20.zip /tmp/mydir/*

That's really all I can tell you, I'm no zip guru.
