Dear Larry ,

Creating regular backups and duplicating it is the best way. Protecting
these backups adds an additional layer of security. Frequent Flash Copy
enables creation of multiple point in time images and these images should
also be protected. What if the storage administrator accidentally deletes
the flash copy ? So creating an air-gapped copy is also of great value.
When using DS8880 and above one could use Safeguarded Copy to create more
numbers of copies ( up to 500) than Flash Copy. This improves the recovery
point objective. The backup is not directly accessible to the host and
hence protected from the compromised host. At the same time with proper
segregation of storage administrator and backup administrator roles , one
could protect these backups.

Rameez

Why would PUBLIC *USE let someone change the data in a table (file)?
I must be missing something.

And since most of you have PUBLIC *USE as the default on nearly
every table on the system this program could probably be run by the
janitor.
